'Playing the staring game' with marine creatures

August 23, 2011

A photo exhibition in Tokyo allows visitors to gaze into the eyes of marine creatures, such as dolphins and eared seals.

"Looking into the Eyes of Marine Mammals," organized by a camera maker Ricoh Co., is being held at the "Ring Cube Gallery Zone" on the ninth floor of San-ai Dream Center in the Ginza district in Chuo Ward.

The photos, by Takaji Ochi, were taken when undersea life was staring directly into the lens of his camera.

"The angles of the photos are unexpected and interesting," said visitor Tetsuya Seki.

The free photo exhibition will be held until Sept. 4. It is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (to 5 p.m. on the last day). It is closed on Tuesdays. For details, visit Ring Cube's website at http://www.ricoh.com/r_dc/ringcube/
