PHOTO/ Chanel dedicates Tokyo show to quake reconstruction

March 23, 2012

The French fashion house Chanel SA brought its haute couture collection show to Japan for the first time on March 22 as a gesture of support for victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake.

The show at the Shunjuku Gyoen National Garden in Tokyo’s Shinjuku Ward was held in a specially constructed venue decorated to resemble the inside of an airliner. It was a reprise of a show premiered in Paris in January.
