SOCCER/ INAC Kobe seals 1st Nadeshiko League title

INAC Kobe Leonessa secured its first Nadeshiko League title in women's soccer after beating AS Elfen Sayama 4-0 at Home's Stadium in Kobe on Nov. 12.

The Kobe team, which includes seven members of Japan's World Cup-winning squad--including captain Homare Sawa and Nahomi Kawasumi--extended its points total to 39 with a 12-3-0 record, ahead of second-place NTV Beleza (35 points) with one game left in the 2011 season.

INAC Kobe was founded in 2001 and promoted to the top women's division in 2006. National team players Sawa, Shinobu Ohno and Yukari Kinga all transferred to Kobe from NTV Beleza this season.
