Leading anime studio Production I.G Inc. created an animated short series featuring top Japanese women athletes for electronics company Japan Acer Corp., the Japanese arm of Taiwan-based Acer Inc.

The "Surprise 4 U" series, which is currently streaming on Acer’s website, is aimed at raising the profile of five women athletes: comedian and amateur boxer Shizuyo Yamazaki; wrestler and two-time bronze medalist Kyoko Hamaguchi; boxer Satsuki Ito; and beach volleyball pair Satoko Urata and Takemi Nishibori.

Currently, the opening sequence of "Surprise 4 U" and a short anime clip featuring Ito titled "Surprise 4 U: Satsuki no Fushigi na Chosen" (Satsuki's amazing challenge) are available for viewing. "Blood+" anime series director Junichi Fujisaku headed the production of the latter.

Ito became a light flyweight champion in 2008 only one year after she began to hone her boxing skills in high school.

Acer, one of the world’s biggest computer makers, is an official sponsor of the London Olympics. Production I.G’s credits include "Ghost in the Shell" and "Blood-C: The Last Dark.”
