"Sasuke," or "American Ninja Warrior," a variety game show where contestants must complete challenging obstacle courses, has been adapted into a comic book feature in the United States.

A four-part comic series is now available at the official website of U.S. cable channel G4.

The new development is intended to promote the fourth season of "American Ninja Warrior," which premiered on May 20 on G4 and NBC in the United States.

The highlight of the latest project is that the comic version is created by DC Comics, home of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

With The Caped Crusader and Amazon warrior princess both making special appearances in the comic, the collaboration is certain to mesmerize fans of the show and the comics.

In recent years, Japanese broadcasters have been selling variety show formats to exploit their catalog outside Japan. Local versions of the programs have been produced around the world, indicating that TV format sales are playing a major role in Japan's export sector.

Tokyo Broadcasting System is a pioneer in this business, selling about 200 formats in more than 150 countries and regions. "Sasuke" is one of the most successful shows.
