Hong Kong's Harbor City is celebrating the birth of Doraemon, the robotic cat--100 years early.
The shopping mall is hosting the Largest Doraemon Exhibition until Sept. 16.
Doraemon is a character from the internationally popular "Doraemon" manga and anime series originally created by Fujiko F. Fujio. The robotic cat is supposedly manufactured on Sept. 3, 2112, and arrives from the future.
The exhibition is jointly organized by Harbor City and Japanese anime studio Anime International Co. with the support of Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co.
The highlight of the event is 100 Doraemon figures created by AllRightsReserved Ltd., a Hong Kong-based creative studio.
In addition, three dioramas featuring scenes from some of the most memorable and famous episodes of "Doraemon" are on display.
There is also a special exhibition in homage to Doraemon, who has a special pocket from which he produces many gadgets from the future. Thirty original gadgets created by artists from 10 countries and regions, including Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Spain and Sweden, are also displayed.
The Bo-Lo'Gne cafe and bar is offering Doraemon-inspired menu items.
In addition, original T-shirts, mugs, and other exclusive items are sold for a limited time only.
