Ten live stage events featuring "Kuroko's Basketball," "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" and other high-profile manga and anime titles are part of the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (Kyoto CMEX) 2012 to be held Sept. 21-23.

Main voice cast members of the anime series will make stage appearances at the Miyakomesse complex on Sept. 22-23, when the fair is open to the public.

A special concert will also be held at the nearby Heian jingu shrine.

The Kyoto CMEX is the first large-scale convention of its type intended to encourage manga and anime businesses in the Kansai region. The first day, Sept. 21, is open to industry professionals.

About 30 of the nation's leading anime studios and manga publishers will join the convention to promote more than 50 manga and anime titles.

A talk featuring voice cast members from the basketball anime series will be given on Sept. 22.

Four voice actresses from an anime adaptation of the "YuruYuri" manga series will join a talk for a public recording session to go out on radio.

Other anime titles to be featured in talk events on Sept. 22 will include "Hakuoki," "Chihayafuru" and "Zetsuen no Tempest" (The Civilization Blaster).

On Sept. 23, talks and other live shows will cover anime series "Madoka Magica" and "Space Brothers," in addition to new animated features "Fuse" (pronounced "fu-se") and "Tiger and Bunny: The Beginning."

Female pop group Milky Holmes will perform at a special stage set up at the Heian jingu shrine on Sept. 22. Voice actress and singer Nana Mizuki will take the stage the following day.

The organizers expect 20,000 visitors during the Kyoto CMEX.
