As part of the projects to mark the 25th anniversary of the start of Hirohiko Araki's "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" manga series, orders for the deluxe edition of the "Jojoveller" art book are being accepted until May 7.
The exclusive made-to-order edition, which will come in a special box containing three books and two Blu-ray discs, will be available on Sept. 19. The regular version without the special box and the Blu-ray discs will be released in spring next year.
The main 208-page art book includes artworks not covered in previous art books, with the front cover featuring an all-new picture by Araki. It also includes all illustrations prepared exclusively for the Hirohiko Araki JoJo Exhibition held in 2012, and the artist himself offers commentaries on his own creations.
The 320-page "Stand Book" is an encyclopedia of Stands, or the supernatural power presented as monstrous invisible creatures and other forms, and Stands bearers.
The 160-page "History Book" features a discussion between Araki and the first editor in charge of the "JoJo" series, in addition to interviews with Araki and other editors, to detail the story behind the long-running manga.
One of the Blu-ray discs will show footage from the JoJo Exhibition in Tokyo, with the other disc focusing on Araki working on his drawings.
"JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" started its run in 1987 in Shueisha Inc.'s weekly Shonen Jump comic magazine. The series has been expanding its fan base through an action-packed gripping story and unique world view. Celebrating the 25th anniversary in 2012, art exhibitions, a new animated TV adaptation and many other special collaborations have been offered since last year.
