Banpresto Co. is releasing sets of figures of the J Stars World Collectable Figure series this summer modeled after famous characters from Shonen Jump.

The release of the figures marks the 45th anniversary of the weekly manga anthology.

The first of eight monthly assortments was released in late May and includes: Son Goku from "Dragon Ball;" Kankichi Ryotsu from "Kochikame;" Kinnikuman from "Kinnikuman;" Arale Norimaki from "Dr. Slump;" Seiya from "Knights of the Zodiac;" Naruto Uzumaki from "Naruto;" Toriko from "Toriko;" and Gon Freecss from "Hunter x Hunter."

Because the Shonen Jump figurines are expected to appeal to men in their 20s and 30s, they include some familiar faces from the classic manga titles from the 1980s.

The second in the J Stars series has been released in late June and includes Jotaro Kujo from "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" and other popular characters.

Introduced in January 2009, Banpresto's World Collectable Figure series offers high-quality figurines.

Banpresto has also released other figurines of characters from "Dragon Ball," "One Piece," "Tiger and Bunny" and other popular manga series, in addition to the "Kamen Rider" masked superhero TV series.
