A spectacular display of wisteria is entrancing visitors to the Byakugoji temple in Tanba, Hyogo Prefecture, by day and night.
The flowers were delayed this year by the cold weather but high temperatures in May finally burst the buds. The hanging flowers can be viewed from sundown to 9 p.m. under special lights.
The temple grows a type of wisteria called “kyushaku fuji,” whose flower clusters extend up to 1.5 meters.
