YOKOHAMA--Looking for somewhere to spend the night that's a little bit different? Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise may have just the thing for you.
It is offering a "Good Morning! Dolphin Fantasy" package for a limited time only.
Guests get a close-up view of dolphins swimming in a nocturnal fish tank, a soothing experience that complex officials in the city's Kanazawa Ward say is guaranteed to shed fatigue.
The catch? It is limited to women aged 20 and over, and a maximum of 20 applicants per night for Sept. 25 and Oct. 2 will be selected by lottery. The fee, 12,000 yen ($153), includes two meals.
The Dolphin Fantasy, an aquarium housed in the Sea Paradise complex, has a roofless tank. Past visitors said they had the sensation of being in the ocean alongside dolphins when they lay on a reclining couch and looked up at the night sky.
"It was as if I could touch the dolphins in front of my face," said a 25-year-old dancer visiting from Tokyo who spent a night there earlier this month. "I didn't even want to sleep."
