Komatsu Brasil International Ltda. (KBI), a wholly owned subsidiary in Brazil of Komatsu Ltd., will begin direct marketing and product support of Komatsumining equipment to its mining equipment customers in Brazil starting April 1, 2013, it announced on April 26.
KBI said it has been setting up its own facilities, parts operation, systems, and hiring and training necessary personnel. Komatsu said it will continue to engage in marketing and product support of Komatsu mining.
In Brazil, the use of Komatsu mining equipment has been growing. Komatsu said it is becoming more important for it to improve its machine utilization rate and help customers further enhance their mining productivity.
The more direct involvement of Komatsu will reinforce its technical support capability and product support services such as timely overhaul and parts supply, the company said.
