Sharp Corp. announced on April 27 that its board had agreed to set up a new subsidiary, Sharp Electronics (Europe) Ltd., to handle its European operations.
The new London-based company, which will be wholly owned by Sharp, is due to be registered on May 7. Sharp executive Paul Molyneux has been appointed as its chief executive officer.
Sharp said in a statement that the new structure was designed to better coordinate its operations across Europe and speed up decision making.
