Medical device manufacturer Terumo Corp. announced on May 7 that it had opened a sales branch in Brunn am Gebirge, Austria, on April 20 as part of its business expansion efforts.
Previously, Terumo ran all business operations in the Austrian market through agents and distributors.
However, Terumo said given the strategic importance of the Austrian market, it had seen the need for an Austrian sales branch.
The focus of the new branch will be interventional medical products supported by a direct sales force closely connected with the field, it said.
