Canon Inc. and Canon Marketing Japan Inc. announced on June 8 the release in Japan in late June of the new entry-level EOS Kiss X6i digital SLR camera, featuring greatly improved AF performance and also major advances in continuous shooting speed performance and image quality.
The Canon EOS Kiss X6i is a successor to the EOS Kiss X5, released in March 2011. It employs a nine-point, all cross-type, AF sensor--a first for the EOS Kiss series.
The new Kiss is equipped with a newly developed approximately 18.0-megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor and also offers high-speed continuous shooting of up to approximately 5 frames per second.
The camera’s maximum standard ISO sensitivity has been expanded to ISO12800, which can be extended to ISO25600. The EOS Kiss X6i also features a 3.2-inch Vari-Angle Clear View LCD monitor that supports shooting from a variety of angles.
It employs an electrostatic touch panel to allow users to select shooting settings and AF point with the touch of a finger.
