Fujitsu on Aug. 23 introduced its new Logifit series of logistics solutions that the company says aim to revolutionize the industry.

The Tokyo-based company began sales in Japan of the first solution in the series, Logifit/LM Butsuryu KPI, a key performance indicator software package that improves management through the use of frontline logistics data.

The software package combines performance data, such as information on incoming shipments, delivery operations and delivery time performances, with sales and other data from the main operations system. The data is then evaluated and analyzed for logistics, such as the ratio of operational costs to sales or shipment costs to sales.

The package can be used from multiple perspectives and enables quick detection of problems and their underlying causes, Fujitsu said.

The price of Logifit/LM Butsuryu KPI is 9 million yen. Fujitsu has a sales target of 54 sets by the end of the first quarter of fiscal 2015.
