There were no takers yet as of early August for the special Tokyo-getaway hotel package for two on offer by the Conrad Tokyo, even though an Italian Lamborghini sports car comes with the deal.
The Conrad Tokyo is offering a four-day, three-night package for two guests that offers some of the world’s finest dining, a luxurious Swiss watch and a Lamborghini for the mere price of 50 million yen ($500,000).
The luxury hotel started taking reservations two months ago for its “Ultimate 50” plan to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Hilton Worldwide’s entry into Japan, of which the Conrad Tokyo is a subsidiary.
“We hope people feel the plan has a value and purchase it,” said a hotel official overseeing the special offer.
The centerpieces of the package are a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 sports car, worth 25 million yen, and a Tourbillon Grande Date watch made by Blancpain, worth 16 million yen, both of which will be presented to the guests.
The Conrad Tokyo is located among the skyscrapers of the Shiodome business district in central Tokyo. The famous Hamarikyu Gardens, Tokyo Bay and the Rainbow Bridge can be seen from the hotel’s upper floors. Haneda Airport is also near the upscale Tokyo hotel making it easily accessible for those who want to jet in quietly.
The Ultimate 50 guests will stay in the 226-square-meter top-floor royal suite located on the 37th floor. The suite normally costs 600,000 yen per night, according to Conrad Tokyo staff.
During their stay, the guests will have a dedicated concierge to take care of their every need; no need to sign in at the front desk. The concierge will take care of all preparations for anything the guests may want to do, such as book seats for the theater, coordinate transportation or accompany them as a guide for their visit to the city.
For their tour in Tokyo, the guest will have free access to a high-end Audi A8 sedan, driven by their own chauffeur. The guests can also enjoy a four-hour full-body oil massage in the spa.
Green tea containing gold powder, along with Japanese-style confections specially made by confectioner Kameya mannendo in Tokyo’s Kichijoji district, will be served during the stay.
The guests can choose from several restaurants within the hotel to have dinner for two of the nights, including the Japanese restaurant Kazahana, the Chinese restaurant China Blue, the modern French restaurant Collage and the light meal restaurant Cerise. The respective restaurants will offer a meal for two people worth 100,000 yen.
On one night of their stay, the grand chef of the hotel will visit the royal suite to prepare dinner for the guests. The guests can watch the master chef cook the meal, which he will then serve. They are also allowed to invite up to four friends to share their dinner.
Room service that comes with a bottle of high-end Cristal Champagne from French maker Louis Roederer is provided for two of the mornings. The guests will go to the neighboring Tsukiji fish market with sushi chefs from the Japanese restaurant of the hotel on one morning of their stay to buy fresh fish. Chefs from the restaurant will then make sushi for them in their room.
A 50-year-old bottle of Warre’s port, as well as a 50-year-old bottle of Glenfiddich Scotch whiskey, of which only 50 bottles are said to be shipped each year, will be available in their room, free of charge.
All taxes and service charges are included in the package price. Conrad Tokyo is accepting reservations for the Ultimate 50 plan through February, with the special package ending on March 31, 2014.
The hotel has received several inquiries as of early August, according to its management.
