Japan's under-22 women's soccer team defeated a Palestinian eleven 19-0 in a friendly in Hebron in the Palestinian autonomous territory on Oct. 20.

The Palestinian women's national team was founded approximately three years ago and has a squad of about 20 members, aged from teenagers to players in their 30s. They train about once a week. The Palestinian Football Association is a member of the Asian Football Confederation.

"I was afraid because I only watched news about war here, but now my impression has changed," said Yoshie Hori, Japan's captain and an Albirex Niigata Ladies midfielder.
