The deep sea frontier

Humans have reached the north and south poles, and even branched out into space, which means the only frontier left to conquer is the deep sea. Countries once competed to see who could dive the deepest, but they are now channeling their interest into the exploitation of marine organisms and mineral resources. At the deepest depths, almost 11,000 meters below the surface, a vast array of life becomes visible.
