The human race is getting fatter. There were 1.4 billion "overweight" people on the planet 10 years ago. Today this figure has ballooned to 1.9 billion. It is said that 2.6 million people die each year due to obesity-related causes. There are numerous factors behind this epidemic, such as lifestyle, diet and genes. One thing is for certain though--the global battle against obesity will continue to rage on.
