Rise and Fall of Bo Xilai

The tumultuous fall of the former overlord of the Chinese city of Chongqing has titillated the world. Events in the Bo Xilai scandal sometimes seem to come straight from the pages of a spy novel: a dead British businessman, his love affair with the famous wife of a ruthless communist boss, and billions of dollars siphoned off into off-shore accounts. This special series from AJW delves into the rise and fall of Xilai, the man at the center of the scandal, with reports on the sensational events revealed exclusively to The Asahi Shimbun’s reporters in China.
