A: AJW stands for Asia and Japan Watch. AJW is the English-language digital version of The Asahi Shimbun. A: Nonsubscribers are allowed to access 10 full articles for free per month. If you want to read more, please sign up for a subscription.
Q: What kind of price plans are available?

Q: How do I sign up for a subscription to The Asahi Shimbun AJW?
A: Payment is accepted through PayPal. Please set up an account with PayPal before proceeding with the AJW.asahi.com subscription sign-up process. After you create your PayPal account, fill out the registration form here: https://ajw.asahi.com/register. (Hotmail users: Please add AJW.asahi.com (firstname.lastname@example.org) to your Contacts and check your junk mail folder if you don't see a registration response email from AJW in your inbox.) After your payment is confirmed, you can log right in. Companies and organizations in Japan interested in group subscriptions are invited to fill in this form and send it to us.
Q: What should I do if I can't remember my password?

Q: What are the payment arrangements?
A: Through PayPal. If you choose to sign up for a subscription, first set up an account to pay by credit card through PayPal.
Q: Can I cancel my subscription in the middle of a subscription contract?
A: Yes, you can. But we cannot refund the remaining portion of your subscription contract. Once you cancel your subscription, your subscription will be valid until the end of your current subscription month. A “subscription month” runs from the calendar day you subscribed until the calendar day before of the following month. For example, if you subscribed on May 5, then cancelled your subscription on May 16, your subscription month will end on June 4. If you delete your AJW account before that day, your subscription will end immediately.
Q: How do I cancel?
A: Log in to http://ajw.asahi.com. Click “Account Settings” at the top of the screen. Click “Payment Setting.” Click “Stop subscription - PayPal” and follow the steps to stop payments. After you cancel your PayPal payments, you may wish to delete your account. Return to “Account Settings” and click on “Delete my account” to delete your AJW account. This will stop your subscription immediately. You will no longer be able to log in to AJW once you delete your account.

A: We issue the “Best of The Asahi Shimbun AJW” newsletter every Friday, which lists headlines and article links to help users see what is on the site at a glance. The newsletter is for the asking. Nonsubscribers can sign up for it.
